New 2015 Make-Up Trends & Tips

The make-up on the runway is usually a bit over the top. That’s done intentionally to create a vivid and lasting impression. After all, the emphasis should be on the clothes. Right? For this season, however, the make-up trend appears to have transitioned from dewy and fresh faced to a fully finished, matte look. Lips are stained with berry or wine hues, and on some occasions, topped with gloss.
After reviewing the shows and paying the utmost attention to the makeup, here is what we at I’m Addicted To You has compiled as some of the top looks for the upcoming Fall/Winter season.
The Cat Eye. At many of the shows they drew inspiration from the 60’s look and the make-up followed suit. Although some runway appearances did not use the cat eye, most of them incorporated it with some minor variances using liquid eyeliner and pencil blended together for a more dramatic look.  Others used a violet or ice blue eyeshadow with the patented wings.
A Different Color. Popular also with the models were burnt orange coppery shades of shadow that stood out without being overpowering. It’s definitely an interesting color. Some have called it pumpkin, others called it just orangey.  The trend is leaning towards more of a rich, deeper shade that is well blended below the lash line. Another extremely popular color was purple and it was used intensely from deep violet to palest lavender.
The Pucker. The predominant color was clearly red. I’ve always been a fan of a nice red pout and it doesn’t seem to matter what method you use to achieve the color. There were a lot of matte looks, but also glossy red or a matte finish was really nice to see on the runway. Make sure you have plenty of color on your lips this season. It’s the trend!
Add A Little Glitter. Another dominant theme at many of the shows was glitter along the lash lines or all over the eye. I personally love this look.  One of my favorites uses Tarte eyeshadows. One $16 palette will last over a year and a half. I love the sparkles!
Maybelline, now getting in on the action, decided to release it’s Great Lash Mascara – a long a favorite of mine and famous make-up artists around the world for decades. Now it comes in six new shades for the new season. On the shelves around roughly the middle of this month, Great Lash will be available for a limited time only in green, blue, berry, teal, violet, and pink.
The reason for the new take on an old classic? It’s pretty simple, the trend for the upcoming season involves brightly colored lashes. If I were you, I’d get it right away while supplies last.
