7 Simple, Natural Ways to Get a Flawless Skin

A flawless skin is the dream of us all.

A skin without blemish, scars, rashes, acne, spots and all those unwanted agents that are every girl's nightmare.
There are several imported beauty products in the market promising to transform your skin the very minute you apply them, yet the truth still remains that going natural in the care of your skin is still the safest, cheapest and best option to take.
Have you got a great skin already? Good for you.
But if the skin of your face, chest, back, arms or thighs isn't what you are proud of, why not try these simple, natural tips that can give you that radiant, glowing look your friends will envy.
1. Avoid using heavy-duty sponges and soaps
Unlike the back of your pots and frying pans, your skin need not be scrubbed hard to be clean. So don't overdo it. A mild sponge will do. Even, foams are fine.
Opt also for soaps that are gentle on the skin. Not the types that enter the eyes and leave you half-blind.
The general rule in choosing soaps and moisturizers is to scan the ingredient side of the product label to see if they contain gentle, plant-derived surfactants.
You don't have to be a Chemistry professor to decode that the prefix coco- equals coconut and gluco- equals fruit sugars. When you see those, you are safe.
2. Protect yourself from the sun
Studies have revealed that a lifetime of exposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, age spots, increase the risk of cancer and many other skin problems.
Do we because of that then wish the sun away? Certainly not!
The sun is so critical to the survival of life on this planet and the continued order in the universe.
Since we can't pray the sun out of existence (even if we try), the best bet is to seek shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun's rays are strongest.
Otherwise, wear protective clothing if you must walk or work in the sun.
3. Don't smoke
The Federal Ministry of Health has often warned that smokers are liable to die young.
But if you are one of those not scared to die young, then you may have to consider taking a break on the stick based on the harm it does your skin.
Smoking makes your skin older and contributes in no small measure to wrinkles.
How?
Well, our skin requires a certain amount of oxygen and moisture to function optimally all day. Smoking uses up a large portion of your moisture, depletes your skin of oxygen, and leaves you vulnerable to skin problems.
Now, we don't want that, do we?
4. Treat your skin kindly
Pamper your skin.
It's the first and best clothing nature has given to cover your body. Take care of it better than you would handle your Christmas clothing.
Do not stay in situations where you are likely to get injured. Take precautions towards avoiding bodily accidents.
Shave carefully. Daily shaving can take a toll on your skin. Once in two, three days hurts the skin a lot less.
Avoid strong soaps. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type.
5. Eat a healthy diet
While improper hygiene can have multiple negative effects on your skin, proper dieting can make you look and feel your best.
Simply put, you can work as much magic from the inside as you can from the outside, if not more.
Take plenty of fruits. Include vegetables in every meal you take. Consume more whole grains like wheat (wheat flour, wheat bread), millet, and brown rice than starchy foods.
And don't ignore lean proteins. Try less-fatty meats, seafood high in omega-3 fatty acids, beans and unsalted nuts.
In short, a healthy, balanced diet is the smartest way to go for a great skin.
6. Use suitable clothing
Your skin is the largest organ of your body and the major organ of elimination of sweats. While it is not bad to sweat, it is important that the skin is able to allow the sweats to escape. If not, you may start to give out nauseating skin odours and even develop skin infections.
Each season requires appropriate clothing in order to facilitate the evaporation of the sweat.
Wearing heavy, dark coloured clothes in dry season will both make you sweat more and make the sweats stay longer than necessary on your skin.
It is advisable then to have on light, bright coloured attires that you feel absolutely comfortable in.
7. Embrace the super-power of honey
If you are still sceptical about the use of honey in skin care, then you are missing out on Mother Nature's number one health resource.
Honey contains a treasure chest of enormous medicinal value that it is a disservice to just leave it unattended to on the kitchen table.
A natural antibiotic, honey is known to bring relief to dandruffs, heal skin lesions, and treat wounds and burns.
If you need help to protect your skin from the damage of the sun's rays and rejuvenate depleted skin, try honey.
If you've got acne, dab honey directly on the spots or as a face mask. If you've got stubborn scars and marks on your skin that just won't clear out, honey can fix that, too.
Why not just use a bit of honey today.
